Fear or Love: You Choose
Well, you might say why do I have to choose at all? What if you don’t choose, could it be they choose you? Warriors have to be definitive in their actions. You have to stand firm and not be blown by every wind. We have talked on our podcasts and in warriors and senior warriors instructional videos about body, soul, and spirit. Our videos are designed to deal primarily with the physical learning of our simple self-defense systems. We address the soul and spirit more in this format and the podcasts.
I would submit that your soul is comprised of your mind, will, and emotions. I would also submit that in the soul arena fear and love are dominant and that they are powerful forces that affect each one of us, body, soul, and spirit.
In a song by Bob Dylan, he poses the question, you’ve got to serve somebody? So who do you serve, fear or love? So let’s look at love. Love is large, patient, and kind. Love does not traffic in shame or disrespect. Love considers others before itself. Love innately wants relationships and relations with others. Could it be that we are hungry to have community and share our life with others? If we really look deep and asked our self what really matters, isn’t it usually quantified with the people we love not the things we want. The number one best-selling book of all time says “love conquers all” and it also says “fear has torment “.
Why would anyone ever choose fear? You could say, I would never choose fear. And I could say then why are you motivated by it and why is it the dominant controlling factor in your life rather than love? We have talked previously about and will continue to talk about the power of the spoken word. I would challenge you to consider the words that come out of your mouth. That they are actually articulating what is dominating your thoughts of that subject. When you articulate fear, doubt, or confusion you are headed in the wrong direction that wants to steal, kill and destroy your destiny, your purpose, and your potential for a life filled with success. It takes a purposeful and deliberate action to turn 180° to go in the direction of love. So as the song plays on…you have got to serve somebody, it could be the devil or the Lord but you’ve got to serve somebody.
