Grandmaster Kang’s Story
Johnny CW Kang is a Taekwondo Grandmaster with over a combined 44 years of training and teaching experience. A victim of childhood bullying and racism, Johnny turned to Taekwondo, where he gained confidence and self-defense skills. Today he lives out his passion, empowering others through the art for a more fulfilled and fearless life.
Master Kang is the founder of one of the nation’s top martial art schools, Kang’s Taekwondo Academy, located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Active in the Taekwondo community, Master Kang holds leadership roles in the United States Taekwondo Committee (Executive Director), the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association board and the U.S. Taekwondo Grandmasters Society.
A thought leader and community connector, he is the founder of the Taekwondo Worldwide Community, a social platform boasting 30k+ engaged followers.
Master Kang has been a speaker and trainer on numerous stages, including educational institutions, like U.C. Davis, local, regional and national seminars and conventions, Think Tank, and for the U.S. Army.
Master Kang’s devotion to Taekwondo has inspired him to reach and empower more people while continuing to cultivate a community through Warrior Taekwondo.
